This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes how "If-Then Record" (the "App") handles user information. The operator handles your information appropriately in accordance with this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information stored on your device
- The cues (triggers) and actions you create, the color of each chain, your completion records (dates), reminder settings, and your language preference.
All of the above is stored only on your device and is never sent to the operator's servers. The operator does not run a server for this App, and the App has no account registration. The App does not ask you to enter personal information such as your name, address, phone number, or email address.
1.2 Backup (export and import)
- The export feature creates a JSON file of the data in 1.1 on your own device and hands it to the destination you choose via the iOS share sheet. The operator never receives this file.
- How the exported file is handled at its destination (iCloud Drive, a third-party cloud storage service, email, and so on) is governed by the policy of the service you selected.
1.3 Purchase information
- In-app purchases (subscriptions) are processed by Apple (App Store), and purchase status is managed using RevenueCat. The operator never holds payment information such as credit card numbers.
- To manage purchase status, an anonymous identifier tied to the purchase and the purchase/renewal state are used. These are not linked to personal information such as your name or email address.
1.4 Advertising (important)
- The free plan of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob (a banner at the bottom of the home screen, and up to one full-screen ad per day when you finish a chain end to end). To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may process coarse location inferred from your IP address, ad interaction data, and device information.
- The App does not track you. It does not link you across other companies' apps and websites, and therefore it does not present the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. It does not serve personalized ads using the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Ads are always requested as non-personalized ads (they are not selected based on your interests; ads themselves are not removed). Note that non-personalized ads may still use device identifiers for frequency capping and aggregated ad reporting.
- Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent form for those purposes via Google's certified Consent Management Platform (UMP). You can change your consent at any time from Settings > Ad privacy settings in the App.
- The paid plan shows no ads, and none of the advertising-related processing above takes place.
- Google's handling of advertising data is governed by Google's policies.
1.5 Notifications
- Reminder notifications are local notifications on your device. Scheduling and display happen entirely on the device; no push notification token is sent to the operator's servers.
1.6 Information we do not collect
- The operator does not collect personal information such as your name, contact details, precise location, contact list, or photos.
- The content of your chains (the names of your cues and actions, and your completion history) is never sent to the operator or to any third party. It is never used for advertising.
2. Purposes of Use
- Providing the App's features (recording, display, statistics, reminders, and backup)
- Providing and managing subscriptions
- Displaying and measuring ads (non-personalized) on the free plan
- Preventing defects and improving quality
3. Legal Bases (GDPR)
- Providing subscriptions: performance of a contract
- Advertising: consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland) / legitimate interests (other regions)
- Fraud prevention and quality improvement: legitimate interests
4. Third Parties and Processors
The App uses the following third-party services. Each processes information in accordance with its own privacy policy.
- Apple (App Store, billing)
- RevenueCat (subscription management)
- Google AdMob (advertising, free plan only)
These services may process data in the United States and other countries, and each uses lawful transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses. The operator does not sell or provide user information to any third party other than those listed above.
5. Data Retention
Records on your device are retained until you delete them within the App or uninstall the App. Retention at third-party services follows their respective policies.
6. Your Rights
You have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and withdrawal of consent. To exercise them, please contact us at the address below.
- Data on your device can be erased by deleting it within the App or by uninstalling the App. You can obtain a copy in JSON format at any time using the export feature.
- You can change your advertising consent at any time from Settings > Ad privacy settings in the App. This item is shown only to users in regions where consent is required (the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland), since the consent mechanism does not apply elsewhere.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children, and the operator does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Policy may be revised in response to changes in law or improvements to the service. Significant changes will be announced on this page.
